The Gaustabanen Railway, incredibly bored into Gausatatoppen. Constructed in the 1950's with NATO funding, the two tracks take you 850 metres into the mountain and then (at a 40 degree angle) up to 1800m.

Every February in Røros, the sound of over 1500 excited dogs fills the air as one of the largest dog sledding races in the world takes place. There are 3 categories of race, the longest is 600km with enduring conditions for the teams as they traverse through ice, snow and mountains.
